Chasing Game Fish in the South Pacific

About Us

Garry and Lori spend their time cruising between New Zealand and the islands of the South Pacific aboard the 56′ Malcom Tennant sport fishing catamaran, November Rain.   They  enjoy exploring some of the world’s most amazing coastlines, all while chasing marlin and other game fish with friends and crewmates.

Garry, a Kiwi,  is lifelong passionate angler, having fished the New Zealand’s Far North coastline for over 30 years.  It’s been his dream for years to cruise the South Pacific Islands and fish for blue marlin.  In 2015, that dream came true.

Lori, American, is a retired corporate trainer, and a former nurse.  She grew up in Thailand and Southern California, and has always had a strong interest in boating and fishing. Lori and Garry began an online correspondance  in 2015 when Garry was seeking crew to join him for a cruising adventure to Tonga.  After several e-mails, Lori jumped on  on a plane bound to Auckland to meet Garry in person. They hit it off immediately and she’s been his first mate ever since.

They divide their time between fishing New Zealand and cruising the South Pacific aboard November Rain.  In NZ, they fish competitively out of Whangaroa Harbor for striped marlin, often traveling to the far north and the King Bank.  The have a home base on Aore Island, Vanuatu as well, where they can park the boat right out front on their own jetty.

Garry is a New Zealand Licensed Charter Captain.  He and his team mates  consistently  placed in the top ten spots in New Zealand’s National Fishing Tournament, Striped Marlin Category.  He also maintains a successful construction business in Auckland,  built upon the knowledge he gained in his days as a heavy equipment crane operator. His mates consider him a card cheat since he usually wins.

Lori is also a licensed USCG Captain.  She enjoys photography and cooking for friends and  crew.   Lori also enjoys playing guitar,  kayaking, snorkeling, scuba and of course, fishing.  She currently holds the Tongan Ladies All Tackle record for blue marlin at 283.5 kgs, caught in 2015.
