We can’t do these expeditions alone,  nor would we want to.  Big game fishing is a team sport, one that relies on all members of the team to help with  rigging gear, clearing lines,  supporting the angler, maneuvering the boat, leading, tagging, photographing and safely releasing the fish.   A crack tournament team is composed of a minimum of 4 people.   While only one person can be the angler for any particular fish,  the other three team members coordinated actions are critical to make sure it happens quickly, safely and with a maximum of fun! (In most tournaments, the entire team shares in the adventure and splits the prizes, regardless of who was the top angler for the team).

Every year, we select new crew members to join us on our ocean adventures.  What do we look for in our crew?  Well, it helps if you are  able-bodied,   don’t get seasick, have a  sense of adventure and humor,  are social and genial,  a willingness to step up and have a passion for fishing.  Your help  with light boating chores and shared galley duties will earn you delicious meals  when aboard the boat, a  comfy berth, hot showers and  lots and lots of fishing.   You don’t need to be an expert deck hand,  just have a willingness to learn.

If you would like a chance to be part of our journey, and become part of our fishing family, we encourage you to contact us with your details.  Tell us a little bit about  yourself and include a photo.   Consideration is given to those that can invest at least a couple of months or more with us.

You must have a valid passport, speak English, and be responsible for your own travel to and from the boat, any immigration fees, alcohol, personal expenditures and any off boat meals.   In return, we will provide berth, meals, fuel, fishing and safety gear to use during your time with us.

Our previous deck hands are happy to provide references and share their experiences upon request.
